Description

The Necromancer can control a variety of minions at his disposal depending on what situation he is faced against. The Necromancer can also stand back and release an astonishing amount of damage over time spells on it's foe. They specialize in dark magic and at later levels can lifetap and fear their opponents as they please.

Solo-Play

The Necromancer is a pet class which means it is by default one of the best solo play classes available in game. Only the Necromancer's good faction counterpart can rival it. The Necromancer is not a burst damage class, althought, it is capable out putting out a very high amount of damage when it's Damage Over Time spells are combined with it's pet. The Necromancer's technique is usually very simple and involves sending the pet in to tank while it stands back and casts DoTs on it's target or rooting the enemy in place while it casts DoTs and allowing the pet to take over after the root breaks off. The Necromancer has the ability to fear and lifetap it's opponent, as well as, root and hinder it's opponents run speed / movement. If you enjoy little down time, good paced killing, or simply don't like to group or socialize; then this is probably the class for you.

Group-Play

The Necromancer is a very versatile class to have in group play. It's pet can be used as an off-tank or take a few hits from a boss or named until the main tank has time to get control of the situation. The pet can be sent out to pull and bring enemies back to the group without aggroing a ton of other enemies. The Necromancer / Pet combination itself can produce a good amount of DPS for the group. There is a lot of utility spells under the Necromancer's belt; it can crowd control in almost any situation by using fear, roots, and it's pet. It also has group buffs and invisibility spells to help the group out with moving and strength.

Summary

If you like soloing and hate talking to other people this is one of the best classes to meet your demands. If you like to control pets and damage enemies over time instead of in a huge burst this is your class. If you like consistency and good paced killing this is your class. If you do not like any of these factors then you may want to consider looking for something else to play.
