Everquest 2 Mystic Overview - EQ2 Mystic Overview

Everquest 2 Mystic

Description

The Mystic is a shaman of spiritual preservation and enlightenment. Mystics are known for their powerful warding spells that protect allies from harm. The Mystic can enhance the party's attributes and provide magical protection in combat while inflicting debilitating weakness upon the enemy.

The Mystic is a shaman that has an exceptional ability to protect its group members and increase their statistics through beneficial buffs. It can also weaken its enemies and heal itself and other group members.

Solo-Play

The Mystic has very little solo capabilities. Unlike its evil counterpart, the Mystic is more buff orientated than debuff orientated. This leaves the Mystic in a bad place for soloing. It still has debuffs and damage spells but they are fairly weak. However, like any other class, the Mystics ability to solo is more reliant on the players skill ability. A good player can solo effectively with any class but a noobie is only as good as his class, which is why the Mystic cannot be recommended as a good solo class to the general public.

Group-Play

If you said I can slow the enemies attack speed, a group would let you in on the spot and this is just one of the abilites the Mystic possesses. The Mystic is almost 100% group orientated and can enhance the partys statistics to such an extreme that it almost makes a Mystic worth putting in your group over a high DPS class (assuming you don't already have a Shaman in the group). The Mytic has the ability to weaken its enemies but it is not as powerful as its evil counterpart. If you are looking for a non-traditional 2-box setup that can outperform even a Guardian and Cleric, a Mystic and Paladin/Shadowknight would be it. The ability to slow and heal combined with the ability to tank and heal, either through lifetaps or direct healing spells makes either pair the best 2-boxing setup.

Summary

The Mystic is not recommended for soloing due to the nature of the class being geared more toward enhancing its allies. If you are looking to solo I wouldn't recommend this class. This class really shines in a group setting where its buffs can be put to good use. It can act as main healer in a group or as a slower / debuffer if need be. This class is one of the main components of any raid and you will find that your guild will always need at least some type of Shaman class around and would kick out other classes to let you in a full raid (such as rangers).
