Description

The Illusionist is the enchanter that has a wide array of beneficial buffs for its party. Using its mental power it can control any environment dangerous to its group.

Solo-Play

The Illusionist is a very good solo-class for the beginning levels. It can summon a pet that is identical in skill as the Illusionist itself, except the pet is running on artificial intelligence. The pet oftentimes will meet your damage output in combat and end up tanking the enemy for you. This provides a good way to stand back and do double your damage (pet and yourself). The downside to it is later on when enemies hit harder your pet is identical to what you would be like tanking. Since Illusionists wear cloth and lack mitigation abilities the pet dies too fast before you can kill the enemy causing you to root, run, or mesmerize the target.

Group-Play

The most preferred enchanter in difficult group environments, the Illusionist has the ability to put out an impressive performance crowd controlling any environment. It has the ability to distract, confuse, and mesmerize enemies. Whether it uses it's pet, stuns the target, incapacitates the target completely, or leaves the target rooted and stranded away from the group. You will be very glad you employed the services of an Illusionist when the going gets rough. The Illusionist also has a lot of party and single target buffs that can really enhance mana-regeneration, attack speed, and other miscellaneous things. This can allow a group to have less down time and more damage per second output. The increase in attack speed alone is so desirable for melee classes that they will forfeit a backup healer just to have an Illusionist in the group.

Summary

The Illusionist is able to solo very well in the beginning levels, however, it becomes more challenging the higher you go. The Illusionist is a utility class welcomed in many groups so you have other options besides soloing. It has a wide variety of enhancements that is much desired in groups or soloing. I wouldn't recommend this class if you intend to rely on soloing yourself to the maximum level.
