As far as casters go, the Conjurer certainly is not the most direct damage of them all. However, With their powerful minions they can be one of the most fearsome classes of them all.

Stacked up against a wizard or warlock, the direct nukes of the conjurer aren't that far of. But mix in the pets dps, and tanking ability; they can do nearly as much damage, as well as having a small tank to take the hits for them.

Conjurers get small heals, for their pets. The heals cannot be used on other people, only their pet.

Solo-Play

The solo play of a conjurer relies heavily on their pet. The conjurer has less mitigation that all other classes, so you will need your pet to tank for you.

Send your pet in to attack, let him build up some hate, heal him, then start nuking away.

While the conjurer's minion can do a fair amount of damage, the main part of the conjurer's damage comes from their nukes. Nuking to much will get you attacked though. So don't over do it, your pet can take quite a bit. Heal your pet, don't over nuke. Thats the basis of soloing with a Conjurer.

Group-Play

The group play is similar to that of the solo play.

Summon your minion, Heal your minion, Nuke away.

The only difference is that, if you are in a standard group; your pet should not be tanking. Most mobs at the group difficulty will be much harder to kill, and will probably eat your pet for lunch.

The advantage to group play is, you can nuke a lot more because you have a dedicated tank to hold agro for you.

Summary

The Conjurer is a fairly simple class, but a powerful one. Relying on your pet is key, but relying on him to much will probably get you killed. The nukes of a conjurer are formidable, over nuking will get you killed.

While the conjurer is a simple class, playing it badly will definitely get you killed.
