Description
The Coercer has the ability to charm enemies and turn them into their pets for their own evil tidings. This is just one of the many features of the coercer, not only do they have a vast array of dehabilitating spells to weaken their enemies, they are also able to incapicitate them for periods of time.
Solo-Play
The Coercer is not considered a DPS class by any means but if you use its spell lineup correctly you can surprise even the most doubtful. A typical method for the Coercer to solo is to charm an enemy and use it as a tanking pet while the Coercer stands back and unleashes its damage spells on the target. One of the tricks to fast soloing is to charm an enemy and have it fight another enemy as identical as you can find it, when the health of your pet and targetted enemy are both low you break the charm and kill them both. Charming can also be useful for multiple enemy encounters because you can have them fight each other instead of you. The Coercer is also equipped with root and other spells that will aid you in soloing.
Group-Play
The Coercer can play many roles in a group. Mostly, the Coercer will be used for its buffs and crowd control. Sometimes multiple enemies will come on a bad pull or a wandering add that could wipe a group. The enchanter can mesmerize a few adds leaving them incapacitated. It can also charm them to help the fight and provide an extra amount of DPS. It also has debuffs and root capabilities. The Coercer is a must have group component when the areas get tough.
Summary
This class has some solo potential but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to only solo. The Coercer is considered a utility class, meaning; it's main function is to support other members of a group or raid by either enhancing their abilities, debuffing the enemies, or crowd control. However, it can be made a very good viable option for a solo-class if you can master the art of charming.
