Description
Bruisers are the evil version of the monk. They have a lot of the same abilities as the monk.
The bruiser is comfortable in Group or Solo play. With the impressive mends, stances, and damage abilities, they can hold their own in most situations.
Solo-Play
Solo-play of the bruiser weighs heavily on player preference. What I mean by that is, you have several stances. Each stance gives you something beneficial at the cost of something else. For instance: If you choose a DPS stance, you will lose a fair amount of mitigation; but if you choose a mitigation stance, you will lose some DPS.
My suggestion is this: For easier creatures that take less work to kill, and do less damage. I would recommend the DPS stance. But for creatures that are harder and can hurt you a lot more. I suggest the mitigation stance
Intelligent use of your other abilities will aid you greatly in your soloing time line. Using your mend abilities to soon will over heal you, and a portion of the heal will be wasted. Using them to late will be wasteful on the reuse timer
Group-Play
Group play is not all that much different than that of solo play. Intelligent use of your abilities is key to everything you do in Everquest 2.
If you are tanking, the group will benefit more from your mitigation stance. If you have a dedicated tank already, the group will kill faster with your DPS stance
In most groups, bruisers generally are not a tank. So don't be expected to do it much, but you can easily keep up on damage with most other classes.
Summary
The Bruiser can be a highly sophisticated class. At the same time, they can also be painfully simple. The basis of how good a bruiser is, is put heavily on the shoulder of its player.
If the player is lazy then the bruiser will not be as effective. But if the person is intelligent in his or her gameplay, then the bruiser will be a formidable class.
Keep in mind that the bruiser is not for everyone.
Now go have fun on your bruiser, and kick some butt!
I hope you have fun with your time in Everquest2.
