Description
The Brigand is a rogue type class. They rely heavily on piercing weapons to maintain their DPS. With a very powerful combination of sneak attacks, flanking attacks and some basic buffs; the Brigand can be a very fun class.
Solo-Play
Solo Play on the brigand is like most other melee class. Don't get in over your head or you may just die.
If you work things carefully you can take down some pretty hefty mobs solo.
Sneaking to your target, and using the sneak attack as your opening move is vital in absolutely any situation.
Open with your sneak attack, then proceed to hit with the “Quick Thrust” line of attacks, followed by the “Double Dagger” line.
After you complete your opening combination, Proceed to use your HO (Heroic Opportunity). I found the best combination for the HO is to; First use the HO opener, after that is completed proceed to the stun (Cheap Shot), after the creature is stunned get behind them and use your flanking abilities.
Using the 2 combinations together can get quite a bit of damage out.
The Brigand can also take a desent amount of damage, not quite as much as a dedicated tank, but still quite a bit. If you don't kill your creature right away, you may still stand a chance in surviving the fight.
Group-Play
Group play is nearly the same as solo.
In group play you use your HO a lot less.
If you have a dedicated tank, you can use your flanking abilities without having to stun the creature first to get behind it.
Staying behind the target is essential to using a good Brigand. If you are infront of the target you will get substantially less damage.
Make sure to open your fight with the standard sneak attack, and then proceed to the flanking line of attacks.
Since you are in a group you will find that your path finding abilities are very useful for your entire group.
Your tracking skills can be very useful as well to find specific targets for your group.
Summary
All in all the brigand is a lot of fun. They can keep up with nearly any class in DPS, as well as being good for run speed buffs and tracking.
A player who does not use his head in game will surely die. So be sure to be smart, and not be careless. You will have much more fun, and you will establish a good career in Everquest2.
I hope you have fun with your time in Everquest2.
